JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT

INDUSTRY: INSURANCE

LOCATION: NAIROBI

The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the prudent management, safeguarding, and reporting of the company’s financial assets.

Responsibilities

• Carry out bank reconciliation.
• Petty Cash management.
• Cash Flow Management.
• Accounts Payable – Payment of supplier invoices.
• Accounts Receivable – Receipting and Posting Client Premium Payments.
• Supplier account reconciliation.
• Preparation of the dispatch of client payments to insurance companies.
• Posting of Journal Vouchers.
• Posting of invoices to the General Ledger.
• Preparation of Daily Collection Report.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of statutory returns.
• Assist in the computation and timely payment of taxes and statutory obligations in compliance with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
• Assist in IRA returns.
• Assist the Finance Team Lead in financial and management reporting.
• Assist in the annual internal audit process.
• Assist underwriters in client account reconciliation

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required

Professional Qualifications and Certifications:

• B.Com (Finance)
• CPA Part III

Work Experience:

• At least 3 years’ Experience
• Having worked in the insurance industry is an added advantage.
